My formative years were blissfully free of pedophiles doing duck calls.

WTF?

:flail: Hans Christian Anderson was a storyteller who made people happy. The movie is a fictionalization based on his stories, like The Ugly Duckling.

Yes, 1952 was quite a long time ago. I suspect that half is quite the understatement.

Yeah, I didn't see it when it came out, as I'm not 59 years old.

So we've established that none of us were alive when this came out. What's the reason, then, for the 'too young' sentence? People born past a certain date aren't likely to have seen something that was made before they were born?

Those of you too young to remember when there was no Internet -- and only four or five TV channels -- probably were never subjected to crap like this. :P

(And Barbara Eden probably didn't infect your early pubescent fantasies, either.)

*raises hand* I remember a life without internet and with only five TV channels. Two of them from another country, but that's because mother wanted to be special.
